When you log into your Google Adsense account, you are automatically taken to the page where you can view all your Adsense activity. On the Reports tab, you'll see "Today's Earnings." This is the approximate amount you have earned today in your Google Adsense account. Earnings are not final at this point and could be adjusted for invalid clicks or fees. It's interesting to look at the breakdown. As you can see, Adsense for Content, which refers to the targeted ads appearing on the pages in which you have written content, is listed first. Here you will see the number of page impressions listed in the first column. While a page impression is generally the same as a page view, that is not always the case. For a more detailed definition of a page impression, see Google Adsense support, click on Your Adsense Account and then click on Your Adsense Report. Next, you'll notice the number of clicks. This refers to the number of times "your ads" were clicked on.Page click through rate or CTR is in the next column shown as a percentage. It represents the percentage of the time an ad was clicked on after viewing your page.Page CPM which stands for effective cost per thousand impressions. It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of page impressions in thousands.Don't be intimidated by these statistics. The bottom line, your earnings, is what really counts. As you become more familiar with Google Adsense, statistics will become like second nature. First, just start. How is Google Adsense Different From Other Ad Networks?Primarily because it is Google and that carries a lot of clout just with name recognition alone. But here are some advantages to being a part of the Google Adsense network:Getting started is fast and easy and requires no technical knowledge. Google Adsense even provides html code for easy implementation with clear instructions.Google Adsense has both the Adsense for Content feature and the Adsense for Search feature.Google Adsense not only provides keyword targeted ads but site targeted ads as well, maximizing your potential for revenue.Google Adsense provides a filter so that you can choose not to run your competitor's ads on your pages as well as filter other unwanted ads.Google Adsense provides an extensive support site that is easily understood.About the author:To find the best home based business ideas and opportunities so you can work at home visit:http://www.CherylWorksAtHome.netNOTE: You have full permission to reprint this article within your website or newsletter as long as you leave the article fully intact and include the "About The Author" resource box. Newbie AdSense Tip: The Hidden Secret Gurus Do Not Talk About
Here’s why you should read this article now (and I could not be more serious):The AdSense secret you are about to learn has the power to change your entire life. And it will definitely change your perception that making money online is a scam or hard to achieve. Here’s why:You are probably already aware that in today’s Internet world, the so-called online marketing Gurus do almost anything to get your attention – they slam their products in your face just to get your hard earned money, and then they leave you empty-handed.This has got to stop. You might even have muttered this out loud while sitting in front of your computer. I confess that I’ve done this myself. Believe me, if you have had such feelings, you are not alone.Way back in 1999 when I started online I was almost in the same position like you probably are now, if not even worse.I started with nothing, from ground zero. No site, domain name, credit card, paypal, hosting account or autoresponder. And you know how important these tools and services are in building a highly-profitable business. You might be sitting there wondering how I managed to succeed against all odds? And you might even be asking yourself, “How can I make money online without spending a fortune?”Let me tell you, it was not that easy in the beginning. I only succeeded because I had sheer determination and perseverance. But this article is not about me, it is about the AdSense secret that gurus are hiding from you.Like I said in the intro, this secret has the power to change your entire life and business. Would you agree with me if I say that the Internet is the only place on earth where you can truly market every day with no money – or very little – if you know how? What is so interesting about the Google secret is that once you find out what it is, you will hit yourself in the head for not discovering it sooner. To be honest with you, it is not your fault that you have not found out about the AdSense secret sooner. Stay alert because in less than seven seconds the Google profit vault will open and you will understand what this secret is all about and how it can totally change your life and eBusiness.Does financial freedom ring a bell? The Google AdSense money-making method which is so powerful that Gurus keep it as their most closely guarded secret is this:Making money online with AdSense is extremely easy, anybody can do it, and the best part is that you could do it, too, at no cost whatsoever. I’m living proof that this is possible. What does all this mean to you?You can start from ZERO, with practically nothing; without any prior experience, without any paid tools or services, and yet make money virtually within days (Google approves new AdSense accounts in 72 hours or less). And remember the most exciting part of all this: the so-called Gurus will no longer have the advantage, and they will not be happy about this. You will have the ability to crash what had been their private money-making party. So what's this got to do with you?Just think about it. You will not have to buy their “hyped” products anymore or their fancy software tools “guaranteed” to build 100+ sites on auto-pilot in less than an hour. What a joke! You will not have to throw your limited funds on their “lousy” high-paying AdSense keywords promising you to reveal little-known $30/click key terms. What a relief! This is the end of Gurus’ supremacy and the start of your Internet marketing success. All you have to do is focus on the free tools out there. Google itself provides a free site builder tool and everything you need to know to get started with AdSense and make money within days.I have to admit that making money online has never been easier.Apply for an AdSense account today and start making real cash. It really is this simple: you bank the profits while the Gurus lose their control over you and your wallet.

Google AdSense Program Review
Google AdSense Program ReviewGoogle AdSense, Google's advertising program that lets webmasters display ads from Google's extensive list of advertisers, has taken the Internet by storm. Through this successful program, unobtrusive text-based ads are served in member sites, who then earn a commission every time someone clicks on the advertisers' links. At this point in time, the jury is still out on whether this program will continue to enjoy its initial success. That is why, through this article, we want to give you some highlights and insights on how the Google Adsense program has worked for us, one month after we signed up for it, so that we can use it as a checkpoint for future analysis. Why is Google AdSense so Popular?Google AdSense uses Google's proprietary PageRank? search technology to deliver ads that are highly relevant to the content of a page. Google's engine will scan through the content of the page to determine its topic, and will then serve ads that are relevant to the page's content.Running Google AdSense is simple and straightforward: Google gives you a snippet of HTML code that you can paste in the desired location on your page, and the ads start appearing immediately after you upload the changes to your server. However, Google AdSense's main claim to fame is that, by displaying text-based ads, it is able to deliver much higher click-through rates than traditional graphic banner ads. As usability studies have widely shown, users are already conditioned to ignore banner ads (or anything else that looks like them). As a result, banner ad click-through rates have dropped below a dismal 0.5% (in other words, it takes 200 page views, on average, to get someone to click on a banner ad).By using text based ads instead of graphic banners, Google has been able to overcome banner ad blindness, delivering click-through rates that are much higher than the industry's average (some put the figure around the 1.5% mark). Our own experience after one month of running the program, shows a click-through rate of 1.2%, which certainly beats the 0.5% of banner ads.How much can you expect to earn by running Google Ads on your site? The pay-off per click varies widely depending on what each advertiser decides to offer, based on the profitability of their products and their expected conversion rate (percentage of clicks that deliver a sale). Google is not saying what the average pay-off is nor how does it share the revenue per click with their AdSense partners, but how much you will earn per click will really depends on the topic and the product being advertised. Products with profit margins of $3.00 for the advertiser will probably give you a smaller pay-off per click than a product with a $300 profit margin. Similarly, ads with high conversion rates will normally give you higher payouts than less effective ads, since they can afford to pay more dollars per click, with a portion of that money going to you.So, just for the sake of giving an example, lets say that your site receives 1,000 page views per day. At a 1.0% click-through rate and $0.50 pay-off per click to you, in a 30-day month you can expect to make:1,000 x 30 x 1.0% x $0.50 = $150The more traffic your site has, the more clicks (and the larger the pay-off) you will get. Will Google's AdSense continue to be successful? This is the big question, and nobody has a definite answer yet. On the downside:The program will most likely face strong competition from other search engines in the near future. The proliferation of text based ads could make users "text-ad blind" the same way as they have already become "banner-ad blind", causing click-through rates to drop. There is always the potential for abuse, since some unscrupulous program members may violate the program's rules and click on their own ads, inflating the advertisers' click-through rate and forcing them to decrease their pay-off per click. On the positive side, I believe that Google AdSense's success is not only due to the fact that they deliver text based ads instead of banners, but because those ads are served by Google. The credibility and brand equity that Google enjoys is huge, and I expect them to continue to beat other search engines and advertising networks that may eventually jump on the bandwagon. However, it is reasonable to expect at least a slight decrease in click-through rates and pay-off as a result of the increased competition. For tips and tricks on how to maximize the return of your AdSense program, you can read The Definitive Guide to Google AdSense, by William Charlwood, the complete step by step road map for making and maximising your income from Google's AdSense program. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------You can freely reprint this article provided that you include the following resource box:

AdSense-well: The Singapore success story
With all the hype and enthusiasm surrounding AdSense, it is perhaps laughable that not many in Singapore actually turn to this method to generate a form of revenue for their website. Why is this so? Perhaps the reason can be explained by the fact that Singaporeans are typically cautious of earning any revenue from the internet. This, despite the fact that more than 80% of the country is connected. For all the bandwidth and connection speeds available, the average Singaporean only uses it to surf the web or to blog one or two posts.I signed up for AdSense in 2003 and by learning the simple tricks and also putting myself in the shoes of the visitor, have managed to earn a decent amount of revenue to supplement my income. The satisfying thing is that many of the visitors to my site actually feel that they have gained something useful. This has really made me wonder what I should do to promote AdSense to fellow Singaporeans. One thing about AdSense is that you need a site, filled with content. Now many people blog over here, but they feel that its just for them to keep a reference to their life. Little do they know that they are actually sitting on a goldmine! When I started out, not many help was available and I really had to learn all on my own. The good thing was that because of that, I knew what not to do, because I realized what worked and what didn't.? Banners ? the banner which we have come to recognize and avoid seems to be one of the most popular with the people starting out. That is the biggest mistake that one can make. Think about it, if you will consciously avoid clicking on a banner ad, wouldn't the rest of the connected world?? Chameleon ? A chameleon always tries to blend itself with its surrounding, to avoid being caught or detection. The same should go for the ad. Blending in with the rest of your site makes sense, because you want people to actually click on your ads. Sticking out like a sore thumb rarely works, no matter what others tell you.? Content ? You hear this mantra all the time, "Content is King". There is a certain truth in it, Google being Google, appreciates fresh content, and if you would want to actually have some semblance of traffic, it would do you good to add content on a consistent basis. Granted that its almost impossible to get original content out daily, do get hold of some free articles that are published by like-minded writers who like to put their linguistic skills to good use.? Clicking ? Clicking on your own ad is the surest way to get kicked out of the program. Do not even think that Google will hear your explanation, for they don't. As it is with their closely guarded PageRank algorithm, it also holds true for how they monitor your account. Therefore, do not even attempt to test their system.Of course, there are still other considerations to take note of in order to succeed and earn a decent revenue. However, those that are listed above do tend to be the basics of AdSense. And like a good building, you need to get the foundations right before you even attempt to build a skyscraper. So I advise you to get the basics in motion first, and then we'll talk about raking in the cash.Copyright ? 2006 Jerome PngAbout the authorJerome Png is one of the leading AdSense implementer in Singapore. Google Adsense - New Ways To Earn
Google Adsense has provided many webmasters and bloggers with a genuine opportunity to make money online. In a nutshell, it's simply a matter of signing up for a Google Adsense account and then posting some code onto your website or blog which causes Google's pay-per-click Adword ads to be displayed. The ads are "contextual" - thanks to Google's software they reflect the content on the page upon which they are displayed. So if your website is related to travel, the ads will also relate to travel. If you have a website which provides information on new car sales, the ads will be for car sales, and so on.With very few exceptions (gambling, adult related content, etc.) Google will serve relevant ads for you regardless of your sites main subject area. There's no need to spend time seeking out advertisers and, since the adverts are highly relevant to your main topic area, they should be of interest to your visitors, thereby increasing the number of people who click on them. And that's the good bit - whenever someone clicks on one of those ads, the advertiser pays Google a fee. Google then splits this fee with the webmaster hosting the ads. This, along with similar ads hosted on Google's search pages, is how Google makes most of its money - it's big business.Google Adsense has become one of the best ways for small webmasters to earn online, and an entire industry seems to have grown up around it. It's possible to choose from a huge range of e-books detailing how to maximise your Adsense income. Selection of ad types, colour schemes, positioning of ads, good topics and keywords etc. are usually discussed in depth. It's also possible to participate in online forums where the main topic of discussion is Google Adsense and the best ways to earn from it. Software is available for the (largely) automatic generation of special websites whose sole purpose is to earn from Adsense - so called "Adsense sites".As good as a lot of the available information is, many webmasters find themselves disappointed by their Adsense income for one simple reason - insufficient traffic to their sites. Of course, there are many independent references and resources available which deal with the subject of generating traffic to websites - but since many of the best traffic building strategies require time, effort and sometimes money this can put too great a strain on the patience and advertising budget of many online entrepreneurs. In order to satisfy a growing number of webmasters aspirations to earn Adsense income, a number of relatively new services have sprung up, all of which are based upon a symbiotic relationship. Two of these are detailed below:Blogging For Adsense ProfitThis is pretty straightforward - you can now sign up to blogging networks which, in return for content provided by you, will split any Adsense profit 50 - 50. So, when your blog post is displayed, 50% of the time it will show Adsense ads associated with your account and 50% of the time it will display ads associated with the blog host's Adsense account. In fact, the 50 - 50 split is based on the number of displays. Due to the way Google Adsense revenue is allocated it's difficult to arrange a 50 - 50 split of profits - but over time it should average out to something around 50% each.Essentially, you provide the content and the blog host provides traffic to your blog. There does tend to be a sense of "community" with this type of arrangement and, once this is established a reasonable level of visitors to your blog posts should be achievable. If you're a gregarious type of person who does well in a "community" environment then this may be a good option for you.Two blog networks which provide this service are listed below. Note that these two sites also operate an affiliate scheme (though the links below are not affiliate links) so, in addition to earning from Adsense income associated with your own blog postings, you may be able to earn additional income from anyone else you introduce.http://www.writingup.com/http://bloggerparty.com/Article Writing For Adsense ProfitThere are many benefits to writing and submitting articles to article banks. You get backlinks to your site which not only improves your search engine ranking but also results in traffic from direct clicks. You also have a great opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in your chosen field as your articles are syndicated and reused around the internet on websites, blogs and in ezines and newsletters. As if all that wasn't enough, there are now article banks which, similar to the blogging communities previously mentioned, will split Adsense revenue associated with your articles with you. Again, a 50 - 50 split seems to be common. The site below operates this system, at the moment there is no affiliate scheme.http://www.sg-web-design.com/As more and more people seek out Adsense income, the number of sites offering the type of revenue sharing detailed above will continue to grow. If you are the type of person who is better at producing content than driving traffic, or if this is your preferred method of operating, then sites like these could very well afford you the opportunity to get your slice of the pie.Hamish HaywardStarting A Home Based Business?Discover the 6 key factors you need to master for success - online or offline. Earn $100000 a year with Google Adsense
Google's AdSense is a fascinating revenue-sharing opportunity for small, medium and large web sites. Some webmasters are designing brand new sites specifically for serving AdSense text ads. (It's against the AdSense rules to design a site purely for AdSense, so you'll want to include a few affiliate links or sell your own product, too.)
I read an article about how to increase adsense revenue from associate programs here is the analysis from the article
Let's say you have a goal of earning $100,000 a year from AdSense. Is that possible? Let's see ? $100,000 divided by 365 = $274 a day. So your goal is to produce either:
274 pages which earn $1 a day or
548 pages which earn 50 cents a day or
1096 pages which earn 25 cents a day
The following are hypothetical cases. To earn $1 a day per page, you need, per page?
400 visitors, 5% click-through rate (CTR ) and average 5c payout.
Or 200 visitors, 10% CTR and an average 5c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 10% CTR, and an average 10c payout.
Or 100 visitors, 5% CTR, and an average 20c payout
Let's assume you choose a goal somewhere around the middle, say aiming for 50 visitors per page and want 274 pages earning $1 a day. You'd need 274 x 50 = 13,700 pageviews a day.
Does that sound too tough? If so, you'd better look for more profitable keywords and ways to improve your click-through rates.
Let's try a different scenario, You choose more profitable keywords and make your $1 on average per page from, say, 10 visitors. 274 x 10 = 2740 pageviews a day, That's looking easier to achieve, If your average visitor sees 3 pages, you now need 913 unique visitors a day.
Is that too tough to achieve in your niche? If so, create two sites, each attracting half that number, 456 unique visitors, a day, Can't achieve those click-through rates and payouts? Then you'll either need more pages on your sites on more niche sites.
Please note, because of the AdSense rules, these are all hypothetical cases. I'm not allowed to give real cases. Real CTR rates and payouts vary hugely.Choose the goal which best matches your site or sites.
Then start building keyword-rich pages containing well researched, profitable keywords, and get lots of high quality links to your site.
